Firmware Engineer

Embedded LinuxMIPI CSI-2BLERTOSC / C++
Apply for this role

The role

You own the layer between silicon and perception. When a camera, LiDAR, IMU, or radio has data, it's your firmware that gets it off the chip cleanly, in sync, and in real time - on battery-constrained hardware where every millisecond and milliamp counts. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the hardware and software teams, from schematic bring-up to shipping devices.

What you'll do

  • Bring up and integrate sensors on custom boards: image sensors over MIPI CSI-2 / DVP, IMUs over SPI / I²C, LiDAR, and other peripherals.
  • Write and maintain drivers and board support under embedded Linux - device tree, kernel modules, the IIO subsystem, Yocto/Buildroot images.
  • Build BLE connectivity for wearables: GATT services, advertising, pairing, and provisioning.
  • Design low-latency, high-throughput, low-power data paths, and multi-sensor timestamping and synchronization for multi-camera rigs.
  • Debug at the signal level with oscilloscopes, and partner with the PCB team on board bring-up and the software team to integrate hardware with software.
  • Ship reliable OTA updates and production firmware.
  • Secure the bootloader and on-board encryption.
  • Run ML models on the NPU.

What we're looking for

  • Strong embedded C / C++ and a track record of shipping firmware on real hardware.
  • Hands-on with SPI, I²C, UART, and camera interfaces (MIPI CSI-2 / DVP).
  • Embedded Linux depth: device tree, writing/patching kernel drivers, Yocto or Buildroot, the IIO framework.
  • Practical BLE experience (GATT, advertising, connection management).
  • Fluent with datasheets, register maps, and bench instruments (logic analyzer, scope).
  • Knows the basics of embedded security.
  • Hands-on experience with an RTOS (Zephyr or FreeRTOS).
  • Documentation.

Bonus points

  • Image-sensor tuning / ISP.
  • Sensor fusion and precise cross-sensor time sync.
